This book aims to be an uncluttered and succinct ultrasound-guided procedure manual for the resident physician.During my training to become a sports medicine physician, I found the process of learning to do my first procedures to be a frustrating experience. A healthy but generous fear of patients suffering in my care motivated me to be as prepared as I possibly could be for a procedure. It involved me opening umpteen different websites on separate tabs, desperately looking for the information I needed. I owned three different ultrasound books during residency, all of which I felt were written for those who were much further along than residency. Not to forget, the back-and-forth page-flipping that I did to go between the written text and the images in these books was a bit annoying. So I set out to make a couple guides for the next fellows in my program, and it turned into a much larger project than I anticipated: this book.This book contains the essentials: 100 pages of only the high-yield information you want, each with the exact ultrasound image you need to produce and the positioning to successfully execute the procedure, and the guidance to bill it precisely how the coders need it. The pictures are labeled intuitively with letter acronyms (instead of the asterisk, arrow, arrowhead, curved arrow, white vs blank black arrow). You know what I'm talking about if you've tried to reference these types of books before.
